Nominations open for "Environmentalist of the decade"

This year the NNF celebrates its 20th birthday. We would like to mark this occasion by dedicating the Environmental Award for 2007 to the "Environmentalist of the decade".

We invite our partners in conservation and members of the public to nominate the Namibian who you think has made the most significant contribution to the health of Namibia's environment and to sustainable development over the past 10 years.

The purpose of the award is to publicly acknowledge the contributions made by individuals who have significantly furthered the ideals of sustainable development and implemented wise environmental and natural resource management in Namibia.

The award consists of a cash payment of N$10,000 and a framed certificate. The award will be made at a celebratory Function on 22nd November.

All Namibians are eligible, with the exception of NNF staff and Trustees and their immediate families.

Anyone may nominate one or more persons for the awards. Nomination forms are available from the NNF or can be downloaded from our website (see below). They must be completed and returned to the NNF, with any supporting documentation considered appropriate, by midday on Friday 2nd November 2007.

Download the Application form here [removed].
