Interns & Volunteers
Namibia Nature Foundation (NNF) accepts interns from tertiary institutions in Namibia and abroad, as well as experienced volunteers.
An internship with the NNF is aimed at giving the intern experience working in an office environment of an NGO (non government organisation), assisting with specific project work, completing research projects associated with implemented projects or working closely with the finance team or human resources and operations.
Experienced volunteers are normally tasked with improving or developing systems or organisational behaviours. Volunteers usually work closely with a local understudy in the organisation(s) to help build capacity.
Namibian interns/volunteers spend between three to six months with us, while international interns/volunteers normally only stay for up to three months, although longer stays may be possible. Additionally, it may be possible for some work to be carried out remotely. It is the policy of the NNF to offer Namibian interns a small monthly stipend.
International interns accepted by the NNF have to be self-sustained and self-funded i.e. need to be able to cover all their travel expenses to and from Namibia; the cost of study visa; food and accommodation; and travel to the field.
To apply for an internship position, please respond to an advertised vacancy by sending your CV and a covering letter explaining why your interested in the role and including two contactable references to the email address supplied in the advert.
