Research. Little is known about Namibia’s cetaceans and much of the data that exists is decades old. The research carried out by this project focuses on gathering baseline population level data, including abundance, behaviour and distribution of marine mammals and turtles to assess their conservation status.

Education. This is an important part of the work done by Namibian Dolphin Project and includes programmes to excite young learners about their environment and share current scientific information with the community. There are also programmes to promote sustainable use of marine resources and with tour operators to promote responsible marine tourism.
