Biodiversity in Focus: A Prelude to the IPBES Plenary in Namibia!
On 6 December 2024, the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) will host “Biodiversity in Focus,” an engaging platform for dialogue and action on one of the most pressing topics of our time – biodiversity.
This event emphasizes the significance of biodiversity in sustaining ecosystems, livelihoods, and cultural identity. With Namibia’s extraordinary landscapes and diverse species, the discussions will highlight how we can collectively protect and preserve our natural heritage.
The program includes:
- Meet & Greet and Exhibition Walk-Through: Explore Changing Climate, Changing Namibia by the Museums Association of Namibia.
- Panel Discussion: Hear from distinguished speakers, including NNF’s Prof. Morgan Hauptfleisch, a leading voice in landscape-level biodiversity management. The keynote address will be delivered by Cyrille Barnerias, Director of European and International Relations at the French Biodiversity Agency.
- Networking Reception: Engage with policymakers, scientists, and community leaders over refreshments.
This event offers an opportunity to learn, connect, and take action for a sustainable future. Thus, we encourage everyone to join this open event and contribute to shaping Namibia’s conservation story.
