Call for Consultant: Lead Author for the 2024 State of Community Conservation Report

The Namibian Association of CBNRM Support Organisations (NACSO) is seeking a dynamic and experienced consultant to lead the development of the State of Community Conservation (SoCC) Report 2024.

This flagship publication highlights the progress, challenges, and future directions of Namibia’s Community-Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) programme. We are looking for a skilled writer with a passion for conservation and a talent for synthesising complex data into clear, compelling narratives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews with conservancy representatives, NACSO members, and government stakeholders.

  • Draft and edit content for the SoCC report, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and thematic consistency.

  • Collaborate with designers to produce a polished, print-ready publication.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in environmental science, conservation, communications, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in report writing, editing, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Strong ability to interpret and present technical and statistical data.

  • Familiarity with Namibia’s CBNRM policy framework is an advantage.

Consultancy Duration

June – November 2025
(Remote-based, with potential in-person meetings in Windhoek)
