Strengthening Agroecology and Organic Agriculture in Namibia
Namibia has taken a bold step toward building a more sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural future with the formation of a national Technical Working Group (TWG) focused on Agroecology and Organic Agriculture.
Led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, with support from the Namibia Nature Foundation (NNF) and the Namibian Organic Association (NOA), this initiative builds on the momentum from the recent national conference and aligns with the Strategy for the Transformation of Agri-Food Systems (STAS).
The TWG brings together key public and private stakeholders to coordinate efforts in promoting nature-positive, regenerative, and inclusive food systems. Early discussions have focused on shared priorities in policy development, training, research, market access, and funding support — all aimed at scaling up sustainable farming across the country.
