Earth Day 2026

Our Planet, Our Power

As Namibia continues to lead in conservation, stories of our oceans and coastlines remain largely underrepresented in the media. This Earth Day, join a dynamic roundtable of experts across journalism, science communication, policy, and youth advocacy as we explore why marine and coastal issues struggle for visibility and what can be done to change that. This conversation aims to strengthen storytelling, and amplify the voices shaping Namibia’s ocean future.

In honour of Earth Day, we had a roundtable conversation that brought together voices across journalism, science communication, and youth activism. The room left with clarity, commitment, and a renewed sense of purpose. Because hashtag#OurPlanetOurPower is not just a theme, it is a call to action. This was one of many conversations toward ensuring that Namibia’s marine environment finally receives the media attention it has always deserved.

We extend our appreciation to our partners, the Namibian Youth Chamber of Environment, Namibia Chamber of Environment, Blue Action Fund, and various Namibian-based media houses, whose collaboration continues to strengthen environmental awareness as well as youth engagement across Namibia.
